Be Intentional With Walking
Shiverenje M SimaniIn the modern times we live in WALKING is no longer something we can be sure to practice everyday. It is therefore important to be intentional with incorporating walking into your daily routine. Here are some TIPS.
1. Lunchtime Walks Instead of sitting at your desk during lunch breaks, use that time for a short walk. Invite colleagues or friends to join you. It’s a great way to refresh your mind, improve digestion, and get some vitamin D from sunlight. You can also practice this on mornings or evenings.
2. Park Farther When driving, intentionally park farther away from your destination. Those extra steps add up! Plus, you’ll avoid the stress of hunting for a close parking spot.
3. Stair Climbing Whenever possible, choose the stairs over elevators or escalators. Climbing stairs engages multiple muscle groups and provides a great cardiovascular workout.
4. Phone Walking Use your phone calls as an opportunity to walk. Whether you’re at home, in the office, or outdoors, take calls while strolling around. It’s a productive way to stay active.
5. Pet Walking If you have a furry friend, take them along for a walk. Dogs love exploring, and their enthusiasm can motivate you to walk longer distances. Remember, consistency matters. Start with small steps (pun intended) and gradually build up. Walking is a simple habit that can significantly impact your overall health and well-being.
